Well said. The original, when watched on TV outside of a theater packed with oddly dressed people throwing toast, raising umbrella's, firing off water pistols and adding lines into the show wasn't the same. In fact, it stunk. It was never a good movie. What saved it was the audience participation. How many theater owners do you think are going to go along with the audenience antics (thowing toast, shooting water pistol's et....) in their theater's? Without the audience participation, it's really a very bad movie.
I remember once squirting jergens hand lotion during one of the sex scene's. Somehow, I don't think a theater owner today is going to appreciate that move. I'm not certain they did back then either.
