I stayed at the Grande Lakes Orlando Ritz-Carlton a couple New Year's ago and it was very nice and is physically semi-connected to the big upscale Marriott hotel ( just a walk along behind going by some pools, etc., however, the area is/was sort of isolated, set apart in the area. Hard to explain, but there was hardly anything nearby except for a Wahlgreens at a nearby intersection.

The Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando Florida

Don't get me wrong, I was happy to be at the Ritz and enjoyed the spa, pools, restaurant, New Year's eve party, but beyond things on-site, it was a hike.

Now, this is my experience and I was only there a few days, but this is how I recall it.

Maybe there are plans to expand the empty areas surrounding it.
